Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is the birthplace of the Arab race and of Arabic. It's also home to two of Islam's holiest cities - Mecca and Medina. Saudi Arabia is also a modern, thriving, oil-rich state. Saudi Arabia is largely a desert landscape but this is not without its own beauty. There is also some lovely mountain scenery, and some of the Middle East's best archaeological sites. Saudi Arabia is a vast country with the Arabian Gulf on the East coast and the red sea on the West. To the North Saudi Arabia is bordered by Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait. To the South East and South Saudi Arabia is bordered with the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Yemen. Dharan is on the Gulf coast and there is a causeway to the Island of Bahrain.Riyadh is inland from here. Jeddah is half way down the Red Sea coast and is near to Medina and Mecca.
Because of the long distances between the main cities in Saudi Arabia air travel is often the most convenient and practical way to travel within the Kingdom. The national airline, Saudia, operates a comprehensive network of domestic flights as well as International flights.From Riyadh to Jeddah takes just over an hour; from Riyadh to Dhahran on the east coast is a flight of just under an hour.
Saudi Arabia has three international airports:
· King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh
· King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah
· King Fahad International Airport in Dhahran
Car hire in Saudi Arabia can be found in most towns in Saudi Arabia. There is car hire at Riyadh, car rental in Dhahran, car hire at Jeddah and car hire at Mecca.Visitors to Saudi Arabia should have either a current driver's licence from their home country or an International licence
Jeddah Airport
Jeddah Airport is located 19 kilometers north of Jeddah. Jeddah is Saudi Arabia's centre for trade and commerce. It also serves for the millions of pilgrims to Mecca whom perform Umrah, Haj or to visit the two holy mosques Jeddah is an important tourist centre, with an elegant and beautiful eighty kilometer corniche on the Red Sea coast

Riyadh Airport
Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia and is the seat of government and is the centre for ministries, embassies, universities, financial institutions and cultural organisations.
At Riyadh airport there are four terminals in one building, all linked by travelators, serving International and Domestic passengers. Each terminal has an information desk and within the building are many facilities to make the passenger's trip comfortable. There are banks, restaurants, cafes, a hospital, shops and a mosque. At the Sahara Airport Hotel Business services are available, including meeting rooms for up to 250 people. Two large three-level car parks are located directly in front of the passenger terminals.

From Riyadh follow the signs to the Airport. The Major roads to the airport are King Fahd Road, Al-Takhassousi Road and the East Interstate Highway. Riyadh airport is located 35km (22 miles) north of Riyadh
