The United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates is a collection of small states and is fast becoming a very popular tourist destination for world travellers. The United Arab Emirates can tempt the visitors with sun, sand, sea and sports. The UAE also has fantastic shops; first rate hotels and restaurants coupled with an intriguing traditional culture. From the UAE, London takes about 6 hours 30 mins, Frankfurt 6 hours; Hong Kong about 8 hours, Los Angeles about 20 hours, Toronto about14 hours and Sydney about 16 hours.

Over 40 passenger carriers operate scheduled flights to Abu Dhabi from approximately 90 destinations world-wide. Major international carriers include Air France, Air India, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, PIA, Britannia, and China Airlines.
The Airport facilities at Abu Dhabi are excellent. The duty free shop is famous around the world for its choice and value. As well as the usual amenities of banks, bureau de changes, VIP lounges, tourist information centres, car hire desks and travel agencies there are other impressive services. How about a 19-suite airport hotel, a golf course 400 metres from the terminal, a gym and a 24-hour business centre with internet access.
Abu Dhabi airport is situated on the mainland, 35km (22 miles) east of the city. The journey to the city centre should take about 45 minutes, depending on the traffic. Three highways lead from the city centre to the airport and they all merge into one main highway which leads directly to Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Dubai
Dubai has a unique personality of a cosmopolitan society with an international lifestyle, yet with a culture deeply rooted in the Islamic traditions of Arabia. Dubai International Airport (DXB)
Dubai International Airport is considered the Middle East's premier and busiest airport. In 2001it had a throughput of 13.5 million passengers. Almost all the world's leading airlines operate scheduled services to Dubai, including British Airways, Air France, Cathay Pacific, Cyprus Airways, Kenya Airways, Lufthansa and United Airlines, to name but a few. Airport facilities are up to the standard that you would expect. Dubai airport is located 5km (3 miles) southeast of the city, about 10 minutes in light traffic from the city centre. From locations south of Dubai, cross Al-Khor at Al-Garhoud Bridge and drive north, then turn right onto Airport Road.
